A Journey Through Place and Process:
My Time at The Farm Residency
During my time at The Farm Residency in Denmark, I found myself deeply inspired by both the landscape and the intimate spaces within the residency itself. Surrounded by nature and the stark beauty of Stevns Klint, I created works that blend painting and embroidery on paper and fabric, exploring themes of connection, memory, and place.
The surrounding environment, from the church at Stevns Klint to the quiet corners of the farm, informed my process as I layered my experiences through materials. My approach is rooted in deconstructionism, seeking to break down and reassemble forms in a way that challenges conventional norms and explores personal realities. Each piece became a reflection not only of my surroundings but also of my own journey of transformation and self-discovery.
I am especially grateful to Carla and Nicole, the founders of The Farm Club, whose vision and support made this residency possible. Their dedication to fostering creative growth and offering a space for artists to connect with both nature and their inner world provided a perfect environment for creative people.
This residency was more than just an artistic process; it was about understanding how the spaces we occupy—both external and internal—shape who we are. The works created here are deeply personal yet speak to universal ideas of identity and belonging.
